Demon Slayer: Every Character's Age, Height, Birthday and Powers (2023)

A few shows have become so popular in such a short amount of time as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. With just one season and one movie at the time of writing this article, Demon Slayer is nevertheless a global phenomenon and one of the few Japanese franchises that have gathered such a large fanbase in so little time.

Our list is going to contain a number of main characters, both antagonists and protagonists, that have appeared in the manga and anime written by Koyoharu Gotouge. You’re going to find out their exact ages in the story and their dates of birth, their exact heights and, of course, some of their main powers.

Tanjirō Kamado

Powers and abilities: From the very beginning, Tanjirō proved to be an incredible fighter with strong natural fighting aptitude, especially in swordsmanship. Tanjirō has previously been shown to have superhuman qualities such as extraordinary senses, a heightened sense of smell, immense willpower, and great intellect. His naturally acquired skills allow him to outsmart Giyu Tomioka, one of the most powerful Demon Slayers, catch him off guard and deliver a near-fatal blow to him with nothing but his intense emotions.

Immediately after learning the Water Breathing technique and making the Final Selection, he was able to defeat many low-level demons without the help of others, even those who possessed Blood Demon skills and were previously members of the Twelve Kizuki, namely the Swamp Demon and Kyogai. His strength increased as he awakened his Demon Slayer Mark and trained even further.

Nezuko Kamado

Full Name: Nezuko Kamado

Powers and abilities: When Nezuko finds herself in a dangerous situation, she can transform into a berserk state in which demon crests that appear as tendril tattoos encircle her body, stick out her veins, and a single horn protrudes from the right side of her forehead.

This form enhances Nezuko’s combat skills at the expense of his resemblance to a demon, including the need to feed on human blood. Until now, she could only return to normal if someone (in her case Tanjiro) made her sing a lullaby.

During the Demon Slayer’s fight against Hantengu, Nezuko manages to control this form at will. Although she has never been formally trained, Nezuko’s naturally enhanced physical strength allows her to fight demons with ease. However, since she is untrained, Nezuko instead relies on simply kicking her opponents or using brute force to overwhelm them instead.

Her kicks allow her to chop off demons’ heads or smash down a door with ease. Her strength is extremely high for a demon who has never eaten a human, and her strength can even rival that of a higher rank demon.

Zen’itsu Agatsuma

Full Name: Zen’itsu Agatsuma

Powers and abilities: Zen’itsu is one of the most powerful Demon Slayers and one of the most powerful characters in the whole series. Even though he’s only two ranks from the bottom, he’s a Hashira-level swordsman capable of reaching the highest point in the Hashira formation and being tied with Upper Moon 6, Kaigaku, and even defeating him all alone.

This is something that only Muichiro Tokito, an extremely powerful swordsman, has done before him.

He was extremely useful in fights against powerful demons like the old Upper Moon 6, Daki, and Gyutaro, and he was able to overpower the former with Godspeed, and was able to overpower Muzan Kibutsuji at some point during the Sunrise Countdown Arc, although the latter was severely weakened.

Zen’itsu has achieved amazing physical strength through years of hard training. Zen’itsu can hold Inosuke Hashibira with his bare hands and swing his sword in quick succession, at speeds faster than the eye can see without fail. He was almost able to cut the neck of the Upper Moon 6, Kaigaku, suggesting he wields immense power. He could also easily move the stone that Gyomei Himejima used when training in Hashira.

Inosuke Hashibira

Full Name: Inosuke Hashibira
Date of Birth: April 22
Age: 15
Height: 5’5″/164 cm

Powers and abilities: Although Inosuke is only two ranks from the bottom, he is a Hashira level swordsman with incredible skills and attributes. He has shown that he is able to defend himself and contribute to battles against higher-ranked demons and is more than capable of eliminating demons himself.

He’s also incredibly gifted, has inhuman senses and flexibility, and the skills to develop his own breathing style and use it wisely. Inosuke is so extremely flexible that he can lean back so far that his head can reach his feet. He later demonstrates the ability to dislocate his arm to extend his reach and dislocate one of the joints in his body at will.

This flexibility extends to his internal organs as well, as he was able to move his heart and avoid getting pierced while fighting Daki and Gyutaro. After growing up in the mountains, Inosuke developed a keen and incredibly sensitive sense of touch.

He can even feel small vibrations in the air. With this ability, he can tell if someone is watching him, especially if he has hostile intentions. He can even pinpoint the exact location they’re looking at, giving him an advantage in combat.

Kanao Tsuyuri

Full Name: Kanao Tsuyuri

Age: 16
Height: 5’1″/156 cm

Powers and abilities: Kanao is the Tsugukoof Kanae and Shinobu and has been personally trained in martial arts by both. As such, Kanao possesses physical abilities, skills, and superhuman abilities that could mark her as a future Hashira member of the Demon Slayer Corps.

Tanjirō, another promising candidate, even states that when they first met he could already sense that Kanao was the closest to the Hashira of the existing Demon Slayers, just by smelling her scent and smelling her aura, which again confirmed her capabilities.

Kanao achieved incredible physical strength through intensive training. She can jump extremely long distances incredibly quickly and shows her incredible strength in her legs. In terms of arm strength, she can wield her katana continuously at subsonic speeds without getting tired.

Like all Demon Slayers, Kanao has a fearless will and intellect. She refuses to give up and die when she fights even the most formidable enemies who have defeated her master Doma and later Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji.

Gen’ya Shinazugawa

Powers and abilities: By eating the living flesh of a demon, Gen’ya was able to temporarily remove demonic attributes from it and gain them himself. Depending on the strength of the individual, he might gain regeneration and physical strength at the same time.

In this form, Gen’ya is able to overwhelm Aizetsu for a short time. One technique taught to him by Gyomei Himejima was the Repetitive Action he was taught to compensate for his lack of talent and ability to use breathing styles. This technique mainly focuses on Gen’ya by repeating a series of words or phrases that will help her focus on her task properly, keep her mind clear, and block pain.

For Gen’ya, he repeats a series of prayers from the Amida Sutra to help him focus and direct his mind to a breath of full concentration.

Senjurō Rengoku

Full Name: Senjurō Rengoku
Date of Birth: April 27th
Age: 12 (29 End of Arriving Finale Arc)
Height: 5’1″/155 cm

Powers and abilities: Though he came from a long line of Flaming Hashira, Senjurō never had great skill in the art of demon-slaying. As hard as he tried, Senjurō failed to acquire the level of swordsmanship required to change the color of his Nichirin blade and eventually gave up following in his brother’s footsteps.

Tengen Uzui

Full Name: Tengen Uzui
Date of Birth: October 31st
Age: 23
Height: 6’6″/198 cm

Powers and abilities: As a Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, Tengen is a very powerful and skilled swordsman and combatant. He has displayed incredible physical feats of strength and speed, being one of the physically strongest Hashira in the current generation as well as being the fastest runner out of all the Hashira. Skills-wise, he could match the combat proficiency of both Daki and Gyutaro, both of which are Upper-Rank demons that have fought and killed numerous Hashira in the past. Tengen was also able to decapitate Daki without her realizing it effortlessly, to the point that he didn’t believe that she was an Upper Rank at all.

Muzan Kibutsuji

Full Name: Muzan Kibutsuji
Date of Birth: Unknown
Age: between 1,000 and 10,000
Height: 5’10″/179 cm

Powers and abilities: As the first demon in existence and as the ancestor of all demons, Muzan is the strongest demon in the world and has tremendous strength. He can easily stand up to five Hashira and Tanjirō, Inosuke, Zen’itsu and Kanao at the same time.

He is later able to bring Tanjirō into a state of near-death using his poison in a single attack and almost killed Mitsuri, an incredibly powerful Hashira, had he not been saved by other demon slayers. Gyomei, Giyu, Sanemi, and Obanai would also have succumbed to his poison if they had not received antidotes from Chachamaru.

After about 30 minutes of fighting the Hashira, Muzan manifested leg whips which increased his attack speed exponentially until he instantly defeated the exhausted Demon Slayers. However, it later turns out that Muzan is gradually slowing down due to Tamayo’s aging medicine affecting him throughout the fight.

Even so, he was able to easily defeat the Slayers and maintain the advantage over Tanjirō in their fight, who mastered Sun Breathing.

Tamayo

Full Name: Tamayo
Date of Birth: July 2
Age: 19 (>500 Chronologically)
Height: 4’11” / 150 cm

Powers and abilities: While very little of Tamayo’s ability is seen, given that she was Muzan Kibutsuji’s personal assistant even before the Twelve Kizuki were formed, and that he spared her after she tried to kill him (an act worthy of anathema from his perspective), means she is both very ancient and very powerful.

Tamayo had demonstrated formidable skills in the fields of medicine and pharmaceuticals, and possessed the ability to transform her own body so that she could survive on only a small amount of human blood. She was also able to transform the terminally ill Yushiro into a demon without Muzan’s blood, and is later able to reverse the treatment process of the man they encountered during the Asakusa Arc.

To further demonstrate his pharmaceutical skills, Tamayo also helped Shinobu Kocho by saturating his body with the deadly poison of wisteria without causing him any illness; a tactic that the Hashira would later use effectively against the upper level two, Doma.

Yushirō

Height: 5’2″/157 cm

Powers and abilities: Yushirō is a demon of unknown strength, although for a long time under Tamayo, who herself is a deceptively powerful demon who could seriously weaken Muzan. Yushirō is believed to be a competent fighter as well. For his part, however, Yushirō is more of a support fighter who uses his powers to help others see things unseen or hide the presence of his allies.

What is most impressive is that Yushirō is strong enough to fight Muzan for control over a demon, albeit with the help of the Demon Slayer to interrupt Muzan’s concentration. Since Yushirō is a demon created by Tamayo, who has severed his association with Muzan, Yushiro is not associated with him by default and is therefore immune to Muzan’s control, preventing the Demon Lord from influencing him, for example by destroying him from a distance or by reading his mind.

Through unknown surgical procedures, Yushirō’s body has been adapted to live with minimal human blood consumption and without the need to hunt people. Tamayo explained that Yushirō needs less blood than she does for food. As Tamayo’s assistant, Yushirō is also an experienced doctor who knows his special techniques and medicines. He managed to revive a near-dead Tanjirō so he could fight again.

Aoi Kanzaki

Powers and abilities: While Aoi is weaker than most of her fellow Demon Slayer, she is stronger than average as she was trained by Shinobu and made it through the Final Selection. After training under Shinobu Kocho, Aoi is able to prepare most of the simpler medicines.

Aoi was using the Water Breathing technique when she took the Final Selection. Despite surviving the Final Selection, she believed it was just luck and decided to stop training with Water Breathing and instead decided to help other Demon Slayers in the Butterfly Mansion.

Kagaya Ubuyashiki

Age: 23
Height: Unknown

Powers and abilities: Kagaya has the ability to calm others down just by the tone of his voice and the pace of his actions, as is the case with Tanjirō Kamado and the Hashira. In addition to his special voice, Kagaya (and the rest of the Ubuyashiki family) possesses increased foresight which helps them avoid catastrophic situations and amass a large amount of wealth and fortune.

Based on this instinct, Kagaya made several guesses about several things that ultimately turned out to be true and correct, without having any prior information by beheading, that the death of Gyutaro and Daki would send waves that would ultimately lead to this. that the upper echelons of the Twelve Kizuki would lose limbs for the first time in hundreds of years, and that Muzan would regain him and the final war between the Demon Slayer Corps and the Twelve Kizuki in the last five days of his life.

Kyōjurō Rengoku

Full Name: Kyōjurō Rengoku

Height: 5’10″/177 cm

Powers and abilities: As a former Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, Kyojuro was an exceptionally powerful swordsman. Even demons as strong as Akaza, the Upper Rank Three and the fourth strongest of known demons, recognized Kyōjurō as being enormously powerful.

He even went so far as to turn Kyōjurō into a demon so that he could transcend his human limitations and become stronger, something he only offered to swordsmen he believed to be as refined as possible. Akaza also praised his fighting spirit and said that he was approaching the “Realm of the Highest” which meant he was very close to reaching the Transparent World and the Selfless State.

His father said that after his son gave up what he had taught him, Kyōjurō trained to be a Hashira after reading a Flame Breating style textbook, a book that only included three volumes.

Kyōjurō has displayed superhuman endurance in his fights throughout the series. As Hashira, Kyōjurō had tremendous speed and reflexes that even a trained and gifted Demon Slayer like Tanjirō could not perceive or register properly.

Sakonji Urokodaki

Full Name: Sakonji Urokodaki

Age: 52
Height: 5’8″/173 cm

Powers and abilities: Sakonji is the main teacher of the Water Breathing style. He taught Tanjirō Kamado and Giyu Tomioka, successor to his old position as Water Hashira, ten Breathing techniques. The user can increase the amount of oxygen in the blood by controlling their breathing. This increases their strength and agility to that of a demon.

It is currently unknown how high his skills are in using this style, but it can be assumed that as a former Hashira he was a formidable swordsman.

Daki

Full Name: Daki
Date of Birth: Unknown
Age: <13 (Human) / >113 (Chronologically)
Height: Unknown

Powers and abilities: is a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, being the second holder of the position of Upper-Rank Six, a position she shares with the primary holder, her older brother, Gyutaro.

As an Upper-Rank demon, Daki is very powerful, having been personally acknowledged by Muzan himself as being a “special demon”. It has been noted that Daki was able to kill and eat seven Hashira in the past, further exemplifying her strength. Her flesh detachment in the form of a sentient Obi sash was strong enough to hold off the combined efforts of Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, Makio and Suma, the former two being seasoned Demon Slayers while the latter two being kunoichi with shinobi training.

Meanwhile, a weaker Daki was already a hand full for Tanjiro Kamado who had begun to actively use the Hinokami Kagura in combat.

Daki’s power dramatically increases, so much so that her speed in this form was incomparable from before. In this form, her sashes also become more durable, allowing them to slice Nezuko Kamado’s body in half and destroy buildings with ease.

Furthermore, once Gyutaro’s eye is implanted in her, Daki’s power is amplified once again, giving her improved speed and reflexes that can outclass the likes of Zenitsu’s Thunderclap and Flash technique.

She also possesses Decapitation Immunity, Extrasensory Perception, Hair Manipulation, Immense Regeneration, Speed & Reflexes, and Strength. Daki also possesses Keen Intellect, some Flight abilities, is a skilled Courtesan and has Unlimited Stamina & Endurance.
